Full Stack Developer (Technical Team Member)

New Jersey or New York (Hybrid Position) (U.S. Candidates Only) | Perm/Full-Time

Description:

My client is a small, private investment trading company that has designed its own specialized trading platform that is used only by them for their own specific investment purposes.  They are composed of 15 employees, and are seeking a Software Engineer to grow their development team. You will have an opportunity to help design and build a trading platform that is used exclusively by the team for its own investment purposes.

In their 15 years of existence, they have had ZERO TURNOVER.  As an employee of this company, you will be considered one of the team’s “partners” that reaps the rewards of their shared investments and profits, since you will essentially be a member helping to build and add to their trading platform.  This is an extremely RARE OPPORTUNITY to join this small company composed of A-players with stellar academic and professional backgrounds. They are seeking someone that wants to be a part of their small “family” and continue to prosper from the significant gains they’ve achieved as a private group.

If you believe you meet these qualifications, then please feel free to apply directly to this job opportunity here.

Overview:

You will be a Technical Team Member (Full Stack Developer) at this private trading platform company. The company prefers to have a flat organization since everyone there is a partner at the company.

You should be an expert developer in Python, have strong working knowledge and experience with Linux/Unix environments, and experience with RDBMS.  Experience with Django, React/Angular js, Highcharts and AWS is preferred. A strong commitment to software engineering best practices is required, as well as strong critical reasoning skills. Critical to this role is having previous proven experience building complex systems, and being the “go-to” person that fixes things and gets things done in your current or previous roles.  No previous experience in banking or trading is required.  Team culture “add” is of utmost importance.

This position will be based in New Jersey or New York, but you must be able to commute to the company office in NJ (short bus ride from NYC). This is a hybrid role that requires being in the office several days a week but you can also work from home a couple days a week. Only candidates based and eligible to work in the U.S. will be considered.

Requirements:

●      4+ years of advanced/seasoned experience as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer.

●      7+ years developing complex systems in C++.

●      Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.

●      4+ years experience with Python, shell scripting and RDBMS.

●      Strong commitment to software engineering best practices.

●      Strong critical reasoning skills.

●      Willingness to work in a small company with a flat organization and no hierarchy.

●      Strong team player with previous experience as a proactive collaborator.

●      BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in the field.

Nice-To-Haves:

●      Django, React/Angular js, Highcharts, AWS experience.

If you meet these requirements and are interested in being considered for this position, please apply today! Although this position is 100% remote, only U.S. applicants will be considered at this time.
